The Mendip Strategic Partnership (MSP), which aims to improve the quality of life for those visiting, living and working in the district by encouraging cross-agency working for the benefit of the local community. The Mendip Strategic Partnership is a local strategic partnership (LSP) which is a non-statutory, non-executive organisation that brings together at a local level the different parts of the public sector as well as the private, business, community and voluntary sectors. The Sustainable Energy Academy (SEA) which promotes education and action to reduce the carbon footprint of buildings and communities. The SEA is currently spearheading Old Home SuperHome - an ongoing programme to transform the existing housing stock in the UK, with the ultimate aim of reducing domestic carbon emissions by 60%. The scheme is building and promoting a network of exemplar, energy-efficient old dwellings, which will be local and publicly accessible to nearly everyone in the country. Wessex Water which supported the project through the Watermark Award, an environmental grants scheme. The scheme is organised by the Conservation Foundation, and projects in the Wessex Water region are considered by a panel of experts chaired by botanist and television presenter David Bellamy.
